Following the pack

Hmph! I thought we just had to set up the blog but not write on it until later. Now that I've reviewed all the posted blogs and have seen content I must be a follower :o)

A little background, I am taking both LIS2000 and LIS2600 this summer. This is my first time taking classes entirely through the internet and this is my first time back to school in ten plus years. I will be using this blog interachangeably for both classes because I am sure I will have plenty to vent about.

My first vent is the number of books I have to read in my LIS2000 course. I could have passed out (yes I'm dramatic) when I saw the book list of like 15 books. I love to read but not that darned much! I'm already slogging through the first book, trying to get SCOPUS and RefWorks to open up for me and just trying to keep my head above water by not getting my assignments/ due dates/syllabuses mixed up between the two courses. Sigh, this is only week one...

That's all for now back to work.

  1. I am a little ashamed that I've become so facebook orientated that I tried to add you as a friend. It appears that function is not here in blogland, or is it?

Anyway I can totally sympathize with you for 2000, I had stacks and stacks of books for that class and it was impossible to read them all. At least this class has only two! I look forward to working with you!

  2. Hi, I'm in your 2600 class. I took 2000 last fall and I also freaked out when I saw the reading list. Don't drive yourself to a nervous breakdown trying to read every word of each book. If it's still set up the same way, you have multiple books to read for each assignment. Skim a lot, focus on the parts that relate to the assignment and you'll have plenty of material to finish the assignment.

  3. As it turns out, it says in the syllabus that we should be posting in our blogs 3 times a week! ;)
